Daily gratitude journaling was something I set out to start doing at the beginning of this – and guess what? I never did. Not once. But that sure as hell doesn’t mean that I don’t have tons to be grateful for this Thanksgiving season! So consider this a page out of my non-existent gratitude journal, reflecting back on all the things that I have to be grateful for this year.
My Health
With a global pandemic going on, being healthy this past year is absolutely something to be grateful for. A lot of my friends & family have dealt with sickness, and are thankfully all okay, but I know that hasn’t been the case for a lot of others. With so many unknowns about what the future holds regarding this pandemic situation, I’m going to continue to be grateful on a daily basis to still be here with my loved ones.
Patient & Persistent Clients
This past year in real estate was C-R-A-Z-Y. No doubt about it. I’m am so unbelievably grateful for the amount of buyers who stuck it out in this market when they were losing out on multiple offers regularly. I spent a lot of time encouraging and reminding clients to be patient, and that the right house would absolutely come along. We had to get smart and strategic, and I’m so happy they were persistent, because it definitely paid off for them!
Social Media
Here me out on this one – over the past 1.5 years, not everyone has been super comfortable getting together, so I’m so grateful for the ability to do video calls and be able to still know what is going on with everyone without necessarily seeing them in person. While social media can be a total time-suck and comparison trap, I’ve truly been able to meet some amazing new friends, clients, and use it to help educate & connect with those around me, so for that I am thankful!
Grace
This past year there have been so many struggles in all different aspects of life that have caused me to step back and remind myself to give not only myself some grace, but also others. With everything going on around us, we have dealt with so many more overwhelming things than we normally probably would, so it’s important to remember that everyone is dealing with something new, something unknown. Because of this, I’m grateful for grace and hope that this has forever changed how much more willing I am to pour it out onto others.
My Family
I’m not going to pretend like having two little ones doesn’t make me absolutely batty some days, but my kids and hubby make me whole. If I’m having a bad day, all it takes is a little hug from my kid and all is right in the world again. Having a husband who supported me to quit my full-time 9-5 job to jump into real estate full time is also a blessing that I am forever grateful for.
My Career
Where do I even begin with how grateful I am for this. I feel like real estate has opened so many doors (literally & figuratively – haha) for me since I started, and I will never look back. I’ve met some of the best clients & people in this career, I feel so free that I’m able to be more myself, and have alleviated so much mental stress on myself. While I really loved a lot of what I was doing in the past with my prior career, it always was something you took home with you and weighed on you mentally. While I wouldn’t change the path that led me here, I’m so grateful for the life lessons and experiences I gained there because trust me – a background in Psychology most definitely helps with this new gig!
This seems like such a small list in the grand scheme of things, but it’s a start! I hope that this inspires you to sit down and think about what you are truly grateful for this year, and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
